Pinging is a simple way to notify search engines that your website is updated with something new, maybe a content, maybe a post is updated or anything. Well normally the bigger search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo has the tendency to peek into your site every second for any updated content but still there are chances that your site might not be crawled from past 2-3 days.

How to Check when my Site was Last Crawled by Google

Well to check when you site or post was last crawled and cached by Google, there is a simple way to do this, what you need to is to go onto any of the URL on your webpage, either homepage or post page and then add cache: keyword before the full URL, so your normal URL would look something like below.

So as soon as you will hit enter you will see a cached page with date and time when it was last crawled and cached, just like below.

So now the thing that pops up in anyone’s mind is that how you can submit your content or sitemap to Google, Bing, Yahoo and other bigger search engines, so that they can easily index your posts and cache your pages for giving you good amount of traffic on your blog.

    PING Sitemap is another very nice website that helps you to submit your Blog’s sitemap to Google, BING, Yahoo, Ask and other search engines for free with one click. You just need your blog’s sitemap URL.

How to Get Blogger or Wordpress Sitemap URL Link

Well in case you are using Blogger then Google has updated the Sitemap.xml link and you no longer need that bulky long links to update your content to Search Engines, with a single clean URL every work is done.

For Blogger and Wordpress Blogs below is the URL you need to access to see your sitemap of your blog with all the pages containing on the posts.

http://www.hackinguniversity.in/sitemap.xml

http://www.hackinguniversity.blogspot.com/sitemap.xml

Now you just need to replace the bolded text above with your domain name or subdomain name if you are still on .blogspot domain. This will show you pages containing all your posts.

So now you can submit your .xml link to the PING Sitemap website and it will PING your site for free and notify every major search engine. This will help you to maximize your traffic from search engines and increasing your rankings.
